Kero Gaming Basketball Settlement Rules

Classifications of statistics are defined by the Official NBA Rulebook and interpreted by the micro betting stats provider.

For the settlement of markets, game clock and quarter times are used to define the starting points of bets. For example, “which team scores the next field goal after 10:00 (Q1)?”, will be settled upon any field goal scored at 9:59 (Q1) or later in the game. Settlements are exclusive of the listed times however, meaning a field goal scored at exactly 10:00 (Q1) for the same case will have no action. Bets will have action across quarters and overtime unless otherwise stated. If neither option is met for the rest of the game specified, bets are void.

All game clock times associated with play-by-play events are determined at the sole discretion of the micro betting stats provider. This includes the interpretation of which times in a given quarter a field goal is made on the game clock. For instance, if alternative sources rule there is a field goal made at “10:01 (Q1)”, instead of the “9:59 (Q1)”, to settle “which team scores the next field goal after 10:00 (Q1)?”, the time of the field goal provided by the micro betting stats provider will be used as the source of truth to uphold the settlement of the bet.

Statistics provided by and defined by the micro betting stats provider will be used to determine the settlement of bets placed within the following categories: (I) Player, (II) Possession, (III) Next Field Goal, (IV) Race to, (V) Free Throws, (VI) Opening Tipoff.

All specified players must receive playing time for bets to have action.

  • If after placing a pregame player bet, the player(s) specified are scratched as a DNP, or do not receive any playing time for the game for any reason, all bets are void.

  • If after placing a bet, any of the specified players in the market do not play, or are substituted out of the game before the settlement of the bet can occur, bets will be deemed no action and voided. Bets will only have action while all of the specified players on the market are playing on the court together. Any unsettled player markets will be void when the player fouls out, gets ejected, or is ruled out due to injury.

ActionsRules
Settlement

Markets about possession results must end in one of the following 3 cases to have action:

    1. Offensive score
    • a. Made two-pointer
    • b. Made three-pointer
    • c. Made free throw

      • i. If possession ends with a shooting foul that results in Free Throws; “Score” outcome is settled as the winner if at least 1 Free Throw is successful, and “No Score” outcome is settled as the winner if all Free Throws are missed. Free Throws from Technical fouls during play count. Free Throws from Technical fouls during breaks of play do not count.

    1. No offensive score
    • a. Defensive rebound
    • b. Turnover

      • i. A player is charged with a turnover if they lose possession of the ball to the opposing team before a shot is attempted. This includes jump balls in which the defensive team gains possession, or offensive basket interference.

On possessions where multiple outcomes occur (i.e. a field goal is made and an additional free throw is awarded on the same play) the market will settle in accordance with the first outcome (value of field goal scored).

Await

An offensive rebound continues a possession. So if a player misses a FG, the team grabs an offensive rebound and scores, the result of the possession is a score. This remains true no matter how many offensive rebounds occur until one of the stated settlement outcomes are met.

Void Cases

If time expires in the period before there is an end to the possession as defined in the settlement rules above, the market will be void.

For cases of defensive goaltending, a made field goal is awarded to the shooting team and player who attempts the field goal, and will be settled as such. If a player is fouled in the act of shooting and the shot is missed, that does not count as a missed field goal attempt, whereas a made shot on a foul in the act of shooting will count as a made field goal.

Offensive basket interference will be deemed a turnover as defined by the NBA rules and not be deemed a field goal attempt. The definition of shot descriptors such as “layup” or “dunk” are solely at the discretion of the data provider.

“Neither” option does not apply. The team/player to obtain or surpass the specified value first is deemed the winner. If neither do, bets are void (i.e. “Team to score 120 points first?” will be voided if neither team can score 120 or more before the game ends, but settled if either team scores 120 or more points).

Predict how many free throws will be made from a listed free-throw trip, or singularly the miss or make result of a listed attempt. If a free throw is re-shot due to a violation, the market will settle as the outcome of the additional attempt.

If either of the listed players do not take part in the tipoff, all bets are void. If a violation occurs requiring a re-do of the tipoff, all bets stand and take action on the following tipoff re-do(s).

The winner of the tipoff is graded by the player who gains possession of the first offensive possession of the game for their team. This includes if a player from the opposing team taps the ball first but to a player on the other team, the winner of the bet will be the player whose team gains the first offensive possession — see possession as defined above.

Where stats are not provided by the micro betting data provider, or there is overwhelming evidence that the settlement is incorrect as defined by this rules document, the official league website is used to support resettlement.

Where there is an absence of official league data coverage on the specified event, video replay may be used as a final check to establish a verdict on the resettlement claim. In the case where there is no video replay or league source available, the original settlement will stand based on the evidence by the micro betting data provider. Resettlements are at the sole discretion of the Kero customer support team and require overwhelming evidence.

Matches Postponed, Brought Forward, Abandoned or Interrupted
Section titled “Matches Postponed, Brought Forward, Abandoned or Interrupted”

If the match is abandoned or postponed, we consider the event to be completed and automatically void all bets and close the event. We further reserve the right to void bets if we receive indication by our data provider that the game was rescheduled, canceled or abandoned. Bets on matches played before the scheduled date or time are valid if placed before the new start time.

Abandoned matches are considered void unless a bet’s outcome was already determined, such as tipoff winner. If an interrupted match resumes and finishes within a reasonable time frame since the start of the event, as determined by the stats provider, bets remain valid. Otherwise, bets are void except those already decided. If a match is replayed in full, it is treated as abandoned, voiding bets except those determined before the interruption.
